I have always been a big Frasier Crane fan, and one instance where I could really commiserate with him was the scene where he had to sacrifice his Eames lounger for his father’s tatty green recliner back in the first episode!
Now I am very sure that that lounger was very comfortable, but definitely did not belong in Frasier’s beautifully curated apartment.
The Eames Lounger is one of those chairs that since first production in 1956 (!!!!!) has been used extensively in modern living rooms or reading areas. Not only is the chair architectural, but actually comfortable, and normally creates a fantastic focal point and point of discussion.
Originally available in black leather with the rosewood veneer base, it is now available in various formats, with my favourite being the tan leather.
With reproductions available from most furniture stores, it is a great way to add an element of modernism and design into your living space.
