Having just returned from the bush, I was once again convinced that a screeded floor is not just practical but also beautiful.  I love the earthy, natural and relaxed look it creates, and works both indoors and outside.

Obviously as with any decor trend, the style has progressed from a basic grey to various finishes and styles, but I still prefer the classic light grey.  The development that I do like though is the inclusion of wood elements eg. beams or parquet into the floors.

A great idea would be to create and ‘ombre’ effect with the parquet when moving from a wooden floor area into your kitchen for example, by having end pieces dispersing into the concrete.
