This is the same house that I blogged about yesterday, but wanted to show the bedroom separately to explain the need for scale.

When dealing with a space that has high ceilings and big volumes, the best thing to do is to match the scale of the room with the furniture.

We added the deep button (for texture) headboard and storage ottoman, and changed the colour scheme to a neutral monochromatic scheme.  The headboard had to be custom made to take into account the scale of the room.  The wallpaper was also textured and added another dimension.  Similarly we also replaced the pedestals and lamps to something that had a bit more ‘weight’ to balance out the new headboard.

Think the desired result was achieved, as well as the fact that the scale of the furniture made the bedroom feel a lot more cosy.
